Preparation of Coated ZrO₂(3Y) Powder

Abstract

Abstract:

Zro₂(3Y) precursor which uniformly mixed with Y2O3 was prepared via hydrous-zirconia,which was prepared by microwave heating, coated with Y(OH)₃ by heterogeneous nucleation processing. After ZrO₂(3Y) precursor was calcined, its phase structure was analyzed by XRD. It wasfound that m-ZrO₂ didn t exist in ZrO₂(3Y) powder at room temperature. The results indicatedthat Y₂O₃ can uniformly be added in ZrO₂ by coating means and the amount of metastable t-ZrO₂ in ZrO₂(3Y) powder can be increased.
