Influencing Factors on Al2O3 Instant-Solidifying Forming Process

Abstract: Instant-solidifying forming process is a novel technology for ceramic parts production. Green body can be produced by the polymerization of monomers.
There are many benefits of this technology, such as optimized procedure, simple operation, low cost, and so on. In this paper, polymerizing mechanism was
discussed and influencing factors on dynamics of polymerization were studied. It was proved that polymerizing velocity is accelerated by the increase of the
concentration monomer solution and the amount of initiator and catalyst, but decelerated by the rise of pH value. Ceramic sheets can be produced successfully
by controlling these factors accurately.
